| 2288 days since i joined xanga and counting, holy crapppppp! guess its time to start posting again! just wish there werent so many adds.... how annoying... :( | | |
| so far, there has been so much that has been going on. so as far as work, its been about 5 months that i've been working. and... well i thought u were supposed to get like a really small raise after like 3 months.... so much for that D= i mean a small raise would b nice, even if its just a quarter ><... i could use some extra money right before christmas :(. for the most part, there have been a lot of things that have been consuming my time. school, work and ann. schools been actually going pretty well. as for the classes, accounting and business finance have been a breeze, i already have the assignments for one of my finals, and the other assignment is going to be given out within this week or the next. this school semester has been going by so quickly that sometimes i feel that i need to just stop take a break and look back at whats been going on. so i'm glad that i've actually found the time to write about everything thats been going on. for work, today has been amazing. despite the fact that this morning was a total bitch because everyone has boarded their dogs up for the thanksgiving weekend, it has also been quite eventful in a good way. as for the negative, i had to work with one of the doctors that i dislike the most, she is absolutely power hungry and always has the need to boss everyone around. i had to wash 4 dogs today which meant getting completely soaked in the cold =/, on top of that, our dryer wasnt working too well today so we didnt really even have towels to dry anything off. right after that, there was about an hour of downtime which harrison and i took cleaning whatever needed to be cleaned, we decided to only clean dr wongs appointment room... haha. right after i got to experience my first dog c-section. the dog that had come in had 5 puppies that needed to be delivered. the puppies all came out fine, all 5. oddly enough, all 5 were guys. the process is well, not what i would have thought. because the dog needs to be sedated by gas, all of the puppies are also sedated inside of the mother. to wake them up, we had to hold and rub them until all of the liquid came out of the breathing passages, the one way to find out if they were okay is that they will actually start crying. all 5 were so cute, hopefully they will be okay over night at the hospital. all in a days work i s'pose.
so yesterday was friday.. black friday. went out with kimmy chris and two of kimmy's little cousins to ontario mills. it was a fun adventure, but def not as fun as last year. we ended up getting there at around 12 am, just around the time when they opened up the mall. right when we were walking into the mall, a person pulled up and dropped off a person, the person stepping out dropped her wallet and didnt even notice.... i ended up running after the car with the wallet... i honestly cant understand how a person could drop their wallet with that much money in it, but yeah.... the mall was def a zoo. it took me about an hour just to get my two jackets and then wait in line to buy them.. the cash registers were moving at an extremely slow rate... because we had split up, chris and i went to find kimmy and her two little cousins who had decided to go to forever 21... they were actually trapped in the shop. there were so many people trying to get in, that they were having a difficult time getting out. from there, we went to old navy.... effing ridiculous. the line was litterally the entire shop, and if you wanted something, you pretty much had to wait in the line until you got to the area where the stupid clothing was... the line took 2 hours. no freaking joke. by then my knee's were hurting to so bad i had to just go back to the car. i ended up sleeping in the car freezing until the rest of the grls were done shopping ><... we went to eat out at sonic's which was actually pretty good! unfortunately they only take debit... so i ended up paying for everyones food =/... i fell asleep and we ended up going to puente hills mall. again... i fell asleep.... and missed out on the whole thing. my phone had died so i couldnt even call anyone... but well its alright.
as for tonight, i'm actually pretty excited that i will get to spend it with ann! we've been actually dating for the past 3 months, but as of this coming up tuesday, it will be officially our one month. i've been trying to brainstorm and think of what i could do. because she has class, i need to go up to riverside.. that and well... dont have time to plan that much out because need to do something between her class and her lab at night. any suggestions? forsure i need to get roses because she likes them. need to figure out dinner and what not. and probably need to find a gift... sigh, i really did procrastinate too much... not only that, but i need to find something for christmas for her. been hard for me to figure out what to get her so far, and its really actually been stressing me out. i want to ask brent what to get her, but well thats kinda a last resort. i want to buy her like a necklace, but then she said that she's really picky about what she likes to wear. hmmmm i'll need to figure something out, hopefully sooner the better ><...

| so, this semester has been quite eventful. i'm glad that no one uses xanga anymore cause no i feel that i can actually post whatever comes to mind. unfortunately i feel that for the most part some of the people that i'm closest to are starting to drift away. now that some people are in college, things are different i s'pose. even harder, trying to balance work school and ann has been very tiring, sometimes i end up just sleeping in and missing my classes for the day.. which is absolutely terrible. at this moment, i feel that friendship is so important because of everything that has been going on in life. every day i'm seeing friends deal with their own issues. some as little as being stuck in traffic, or being kept 2 hours after their work shift was supposed to end, all the way to financial crisis at home, or friends dealing with paying damages off so insurance wont spike. i'm truely depressed that some people cannot find time to just say hi or sometimes visit, or stray away from their own lives just to see some old friends. it makes me sad that the people that i held closest are starting to become the most distant from me. it makes me even more sad that i see friends using drugs and that i have no power to make them stop. its killing me seeing these people stray down the path of destruction as they ruin their lives with such petty things such as cigarettes as well as weed. i see them working hard making meager wages and barely scraping by while they are just using only for social occasions. how do you tell someone how much it hurts when they dont have an ear to hear? why cant life be like last year when everyone was so happy go lucky. always willing to just spend the time to just hang out. why is everything becoming so complicated... if this is growing up, then well growing up sucks and its nothing that i look forward to. i'm really worried about my future and the future of my family. to me, the future is glum, its hard to see past such obstacles and its difficult trying to keep up with the flow of life. how is it possible that family's can destroy each other. how is this even possible... why do the people you trust the most hurt you the most? i realize this only now in life that behind the facade of this smiling face lies only the decimated soul of a defeated person. to be honest, it is true that happiness cannot be bought, it can only be found in another person. but of course, this is only a rant, pent stress that needed to be let out.. yes tomorrow is another day, and yes things need to get worse before they get better. all n all, i feel much better now that i've let it out. lets hope for the best and pray for our friends.

| okay, so now for the post where i tell you what we've actually been up to. when i had last posted, i believe we were still in tokyo. from there we went to kyoto where we were able to look at the largest wooden structure that is currently in existence which is housing the 3rd largest bronze Buddha in the world, this little venture was interesting because the buddha was so big that a small person could fit into a hole that is the exact same size of the statues nose. the significance of this is that if you are able to go through the hole, then you receive a ticket into paradise or enlightenment. next stop was a large deer park. significance of the deer is that they are to the shinto beings in which the gods can become real. at this park we actually went to a shrine where a wedding was taking place. the bride was fully dressed in a bridal kimono and it was over 90 degrees.... the next day spent in kyoto was visitign mt fuji, the highest point in japan. at the top of the mountain, we payed respects to the shinto shrine, and then got little charms for safe travel. from kyoto we traveled on the bullet train into hiroshima. hiroshima as many people already know was the first city to witness the devestating atomic blast of the first nuclear weapon. in hiroshima we visited the only building that was able to withstand the atomic blast. the only reason that this building was able to withstand the blast was because it was right under where the atomic bomb went off, so it was not incinerated completely. right next to this building was a metal bell with a small girl holding a giant origami crane up. this statue was made for the little girl who was struck with cancer at the age of 12 because of the nuclear radiation. this statue is important because it was for the girl who folded 1000 cranes so that maybe she would make a wish that her cancer would be cured. nearby is the bomb museum. the museum showed graphic images of the aftermath of all of the devestation. it had the entire history of the creation and reason for the bomb as well as doctor journals of the patients and survivors. the one thing that really got my attention was at the end of the museum where they had cased several of the cranes that the 12 year old girl had folded. the cranes were folded from her medicine wrappers and were so small you needed a magnifying glass to see the detail of the cranes. at the case was the small note saying that unfortunately she died after folding 1300 cranes.... the next day we took the train into kagoshima. this city was important because it was the birthplace of both of my grandparents. the first location that we visited was a museum that was dedicated to the kamikaze pilots of japan. this museum was very depressing. there was a huge exhibit that was dedicated just for the pilots. under each portrait of each pilot were the last letters that they had written before their final flight. some of the pilots that had flown these planes were only 17. their last letters were to their loved ones, their mothers, their fathers, their brothers, their sisters, and some to even their fiance's. one letter was written, "what is there to say before you die, who will be at my funeral, how many people will cry". my grandma just reading these letters was crying as she walked through the exhibit. the very last exhibit was a zero that had crashed into the ocean and had been brought back up. a child had said that when it rose from the dark depts that it was just a ghost of a ship. only the front half was recovered, the rest had corroded away with the long time in the water. the rest of our stay in kagoshima was visiting family's and a trip to the beach. we went to our grandfathers family's grave site and payed our respects. then we went to the family's rice patty's where we met up with the rest of my grandpas living family. from there we left kinpo. now we are in a differnt sect of kagoshima. today we went to the mountains where my grandpa had his farm before he moved to america, his name was inscribed in a stone marker that was erected to the 40 that had left kagoshima to come to the united states. from here, we went to my grandmothers home where she had grown up. the house was completely wooden with an added plaster wall for the cows. we met up with her living brothers and sisters and then not too long ago, we ate dinner with all 40 of my grandmothers living relatives. today all of us also celebrated 4th of july early and set off fireworks. for now this is all that i can journal. tomorrow is the day that we go to mt sakurajima, japans largest active volcano. there we will stay at a hot spring hotel on the volcano and then we will meet up with the only cousin that speaks english, micki, who is the only cousin that we met last trip that we made to japan. hopefully the rest of the trip goes smoothly.

| alrighty so now for some more just weird stuff in japan. there are so many weird things out here. for instance, Dr.Fish. basically you stick your feet in this pool of water, and there's a bunch of fish that are supposed to eat the dead skin n w/e off of your legs n your feet. we though it would be fun to try it out. i'm gonna say now that i dont regret doin it cause it was pretty mm... well kinda fun. the fish tickled soo much, it was hard to keep our feet in the water. our aunt was screaming so loud cause guess she's really tickelish. hmmm other weird stuff. there are tons of typos in english. "no smorking" was one, the other one was a bad translation of no graffiti to "no pictures" there were a couple signs where people were sitting backwards on toilets... no stealing was translated as "no touching". n odd sorts of stuff like that. there really are vending machines everywhere in japan. we even found vending machines next to the rice patty's at our grandmas old house. there vending machines next to shrines that were up in the mountains, and there wtparking slot that is painted into the ground, you park in a carosel that is like a feris wheel that rotates! so when you pull in, it rotates to the next empty slot, then when you need to get your car, it rotates to your slot! that or they have elevator paring slots where it stacks the cars. the buses here have better turning radius's than the regular cars in the US too. our bus driver did a u-turn on a road that barely had enough space to have a car pass another car. today we went out to a dock where a guy was fishing and catching rainbow fish! these fish were litterally every single color. the underbelly of the fish was bright sky blue, then it went to a bright lime green stripe, and then the top was speckled with like red dots over yellow! it was the coolest fish i'd ever seen! and the water was clear enough where you could see the schools of bright rainbow fish swimming around. another thing i thought was funny is that the arcades here are prettymuch like vegas. they give you coins, and when you play games, you get more coins that you can cash back in for real money hahha. fireworks are sold year round, so we are going to celebrate 4th of july in a couple days. oh and another cool thing is that the vending machines also have hot beverages! so they have hot cans of coffee that come out, along with cold ones. my cousin made the mistake of getting hot coffee when it was 80 degrees outside... >< . oh and the weather knda sucks. its almost 100% humidity out here. your pretty much walking around and you get wet like its raining... but its not... its kinda like walkingaround in a hot cloud... other than that, things are pretty cool. the foods actually nice and cheap, and they have taxes already added into the prices so u dont have to do math to figure out how much your actualy paying for somtehing. oh! the toilets are actuly pretty cool too! so when you flush, there is a spigget on top of the toilet tank that acts as a sort of fountain. so you can wash your hands with the water that will be used for the next flush. there is ice coffee everywhere, along with crepes. froyo isnt too big here, but you can find crepes literally in every shopping dept. department stores are pretty much like walmart but bigger! they have a floor dedicated pretty much to anything you can imagine. the last one had a book store for an entire floor, then they had mens clothing woman's clothing, along with a whole floor just for kids. disneyland has its own new charecter, and hello kitty is all over the place. each different district has its own special hello kitty. that and stitch is huge! they even have a girl stitch thats pink! totoro is also really popular! at the play ground near our current hotel they have a huge totoro that you can climb in that has a slide haha. n all sorts of cool stuff... i'll post what we actually did after dinner if i have the chance. but if not... this was all the random stuff that was interesting.
